National Center scientists in Emmy Award-winning video
CHICAGO, November 5, 2001-A light-hearted video on food safety featuring National Center scientists received an Emmy Award this weekend from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The video, "Dr. X and the Quest for Food Safety," is part of the newest and largest food safety curriculum for science students in U.S. high schools.
In the video, National Center Director Dr. Charles Sizer and other scientists assist the crusading food safety superhero Dr. X as he fights bacteria and sternly urges families to practice basic principles of food hygiene.
The curriculum was developed by the Food and Drug Administration and the National Science Teachers Association.
