Project Prioritization

This is a list of 33 proposed projects that were discussed at the National Center for Food Safety and Technology’s (NCFST) Semi Annual Meeting held on March 12-13, 2008.  We would like to ask you to prioritize these projects based on your company’s needs and interests and to share this information with us to help us plan our scientific agenda for the 2008-2009 year.

Using the Project Prioritization form, please rate (score) each of these 33 projects on a scale of 1-10 (10 is a project of high priority to your company, 1 is a project that is not of current interest).  These projects are designed to address NCFST’s scientific platforms (Chemical Constituents and Allergens, Microbiology, Packaging and Processing, and Nutrition–Health Promotion Foods) and reflect the Center’s expertise and capability, alignment with FDA priorities, food industry interests, opportunities for leveraging capacities, and potential for future growth.  More information about these projects can be obtained from the attached project descriptions.  [This form and these project descriptions will also be available through the NCFST members’ only website at (username: ncmember; password: ncfstsafety)].

Please return your completed form to me by email (nnoka@iit.edu) or fax (708.563.1873) by FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2008.

Stakeholders’ feedback and input, such as this survey of research needs and interests of industry member companies, are key components of NCFST’s strategic planning and the identification of its scientific agenda.  We value your contribution and appreciate your taking the time to participate in this process.

Thanks for your help.
