2009 NCFST Technical Advisory Committee Meeting Update

More than three dozen proposed research projects were discussed and ranked by priority by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) at its meeting on May 14, 2009. The list of projects, first discussed at the NCFST Semi Annual Meeting in March, was sent to NCFST members as part of the annual Project Prioritization survey for ranking prior to the meeting. Members were asked to prioritize these projects based on individual company needs and interests, rating each of the projects on a scale of 1 (not of current interest) to 10 (high priority).

These projects are sorted by NCFST’s scientific platforms—Chemical Constituents and Allergens, Microbiology, Processing and Packaging, and Health Promoting Foods—and reflect the Center’s expertise and capabilities, its alignment with FDA priorities and food industry interests, opportunities for leveraging capacities, and potential for future growth.

By sharing this information, members play a vital role in helping NCFST plan its scientific agenda for the 2009-2010 year. Thank you to everyone who participated in the priority ranking survey.
